Getting boudoir outfit ideas and styling for a boudoir session can be as easy as pulling your favorite everyday pieces from your closet.
Need boudoir outfit ideas? Don’t worry! Yup, in your closet right now is more than enough basic, everyday pieces that will work beautifully for your boudoir session. And to prove it, I pulled a few of mine and took some iPhone selfies. PS – iPhone selfies are hard but I had a ton of fun with this challenge and it was a very teachable moment for myself. A future blog to come…
A LONG JACKET/ROBE
Pull out that spring/fall jacket or a robe, throw it over something like a bralette, bottoms + tall socks. Or, even nothing 😉 A jacket/robe is perfect to add texture and movement. It’s unique and lends for lots of great poses because you can wear it in different ways.
Check this out for more jacket examples.
SWIMSUIT
Yes, grab your favorite swimsuit! Two-piece, one-piece – whatever. No one is gonna know it’s a swimsuit! Since bodysuits are one of my all-time favorite pieces to shoot and this one-piece swimsuit is a perfect dupe.
SWEATER
Any kind of sweater will do; short, long, pull-over, zip-up, tight, baggy, etc. I put this cropped sweater on over my swimsuit, but of course, a sweater look is limitless.
BASIC BRA/BRALETTE + FLANNEL
You probably wear these often, so why not for your boudoir session? Well-fitting basics will always be in style and you can throw a flannel shirt, button-up, jacket, etc. over to switch it up and add some flare. Don’t worry about being too ‘matchy-matchy’ either, sometimes a random color/pattern combo is perfect.
PLAIN WHITE TEE
*Queue the Dem Franchize Boyz song* Tie it up in the back, roll the sleeves, cut the neckline to show off the collar bones, reveal a fun bra underneath…and *bam!* A plain white (or any color) tee outfit is endless. You can get super creative with a basic tee; bring in fishnets, tall boots, garter belts, stockings, high-waisted bottoms, get the shirt wet 😉
