Winter boudoir in the middle of December high up in the Rockies? Ya damn right.
I did have to ask her a few times if she was serious about a winter boudoir shoot. “Ya sure about this? It could be 11 degrees and snowing or it could be 45 with hardly any snow.” She grew up in Montana so she was all in 😉
She might have come up with the idea after a few drinks but hot damn am I glad she did and wanted me to be apart of this epic day! The weather ended up being perfect; 40 in the sun and just the right amount of snow. Not gunna lie though, I was hoping for a foggy/snowy day. The warmer (if you are one to call 35-40 warmer) allowed us to shoot longer without tapping out. I don’t even remember her saying she was cold, not once. Even at the end, on top of the rocks with the wind whipping.
Honestly, I wasn’t too sure about a winter boudoir shoot. I have turned down a couple in the past, but agreed to Lady L’s because I have worked with her before when she hired me for a studio boudoir session a couple years ago. We both knew shooting half naked in the snow could go tacky/cheesy real quick so we talked a lot about outfits and the vibe. She is a fun-loving, laid back yet vibrant woman so I knew it would be good.
Except it wasn’t good, it was fucking epic. We had a blast, in the cold and the images are proof.
“Thank you so much, the photos WOWed me today, can’t even explain how much they mean to me!” – Lady L
