I want you to display your boudoir photos. Yes, that’s right, I said display them! Long gone are the days where your photos are hidden in a dark closet like a dirty little secret. Of course how you display them is personal and there are more ideas than you think. So don’t write off the idea of displaying them in your home yet. Part of boudoir is the experience of seeing yourself in print and making it a daily normal to see yourself being strong, sexy, badass, confident AF through your custom art. Having your favorite image on your wall, in a frame next to your bed or an album displayed discreetly but easy to grab and flip through will extend your experience and honor your experience. After all, you didn’t do something scary & invest in professional photography to forget about the boudoir photos on a hard drive. Ready Why Choose Printed Photos Over Digital here.
How To Display Your Boudoir Photos
I believe it’s important to remember why you wanted to do boudoir in the first place. The majority of my client’s are stepping out of their comfort zones, taking that next step on their self love journey. It’s not the final step however. Self love/acceptance with your body, your sexuality or unlearning shame will be a constant journey with detours. Some detours are out of our control and others are paths we choose. Why not set yourself up for the smoothest ride possible? You gassed up the car, got your favorite snacks, playlist is going, your excitement is peak because you are on the way! You did the boudoir session and now it’s time to implement the rest of your boudoir journey; displaying your boudoir photos.
Hang Them On Your Wall
This should be top of your list, but you are probably thinking ‘oh, hell no.’ Hear me all the way out. First of all, this image doesn’t have to be revealing, risque or even obvious that it’s you. I do, however, support all those things for your wall art. It might be an anonymous image, or one where you are fully covered but you look confident as hell or maybe the shadows hit just right leaving it to imagination. Don’t let your comfort zone trick you out of having a daily reminder of one of the most badass days of your life. Second, how many walls in your house do your guests see? If you are worried about guests seeing your photos, don’t put them in your living room. Your primary bedroom, even your primary bath or closet make the best home for your boudoir photos. You will see them everyday as a constant visual daily affirmation. That’s priceless right there!
Framed Display
Since wall art is best bigger, maybe smaller framed prints or a gallery wall is more your vibe. Adding a frame adds an elevated touch to your boudoir photos and creates other display options. Post up a 4X6 or 8X12 on your nightstand, vanity or shelf. Fill smaller wall space with smaller framed gallery photos to tell a story without being too obvious.
A Boudoir Photo Album
If you aren’t quite ready for wall art, a photo album is the next best thing. Albums are stunning so discreetly displaying them is easy. Your photos are not out in the open, but you know what’s in there when you see it and still get that reminder. Plus it’s easy to grab the album from a bookshelf, nightstand, display case and flip through it. Albums are my most popular product for good reason; having a luxury, thick page album you can hold and see multiple images from your session is a top tier experience. Since Blue Flame is a full service studio, the overwhelming part about albums is removed; designing them. You simply pick your favorites and I will design the layout for you.
Put Your Boudoir Photos In A Folio Box
Similar to an album, a folio box can be discreetly displayed as a decoration. Or with a window lid to showcase yourself. A folio box houses your favorite loose print boudoir photos. Having loose prints opens up the option to display them on an easel on/next to the box and switching them up from time to time.
BONUS Boudoir Display Ideas
Hopefully that inspired you to be open to the idea of displaying your photos or gave you fresh ideas for where. Get creative and think outside the box when it comes to adding your photos to your home. Wall art can be metal, canvas, acrylic, matted and unique ratios. Above the bed or tub and maybe even behind your bedroom or closet door for a fun spot. Find frames you love for tabletop display or think digital frame for a slideshow! Incorporate your album or folio box into your decor. While I understand the appeal of digitals, it’s easy to forget about them because they are outta sight, outta mind. And that’s why all digital purchases include access to your own professional shop! Making it easy to order exclusive professional products right from your password protected gallery delivered to your door.
