Another amazing Denver Boudoir experience in the books! Lady A was an absolute gem to work with.
Just like 99.99% of the woman I work work she was nervous and told me she is very awkward in front of the camera. Ok, confession time; I always laugh a little in my head when someone feels the need to ‘warn’ me that they are hard to photograph. Some of my top favorite Denver boudoir sessions have been women who told me they were not photogenic. They just hadn’t been photographed by me yet 😉
I expect all of my clients to have some element of nerves coming into this experience. Even if they have done boudoir before, if it’s with a new photographer it can be an overwhelming thing. Being nervous is normal and more than OK, I know that those nerves will melt away quick.
During our pre shoot consultation, Lady A expressed she was concerned about being too awkward in front of the camera and was worried that would show into the images. I let her know that most people feel awkward in front of a camera, but that doesn’t mean that actually are. I reminded her that it’s my job to take the picture, she just needs to follow my pose instructions and trust me. Letting go of the stress of having to think about how to pose in front of the camera is what I believe let’s my clients get comfortable. Once she realized I would be posing her from head to toe, making sure her hair and outfits looked perfect she really blossomed! Showing her the back of the camera gave her proof that she is not unphotogenic after all.
