What even is Colorado Boudoir if ya don’t shoot at nearly 12,000 feet in the mountains?
I have been shooting Colorado Boudoir for over half a decade & in the beginning, I was shooting more outdoors. My passion for photography started outside but my comfort zone has kept me mostly in my studio. Not gunna lie, shooting outside is a whole other beast. I don’t like giving up too much control & outdoor boudoir, especially at 12,000 feet is way up in the air. Pun intended!
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate + accept the challenge and love shooting outdoors – I live in one of the most stunning states! However, I don’t advertise that I do outdoor Colorado Boudoir sessions because, well I usually leave the outdoor stuff for personal projects. But when Lady A reached out to me and I could hear how important it was for her to have this experience in nature, it was a no-brainer. She was a go-with-the-flow, chill, let-it-happen spirit like me so I knew it was a good fit. I warned her of the bumps we could face shooting at 12,000 feet up in Colorado a week into October but she embraced them with zero hesitation. I love that energy of just committing to knowing we aren’t in control but doing it anyway! And ya know what? We were rewarded because that evening at 12,000 feet the weather was perfect for Colorado Boudoir. It was pure magic.
We made pure magic
“Being a young adult cancer survivor, finding self love was important for me. This was originally meant to be a gift for the love of my life and it turned into a journey of helping me see how to truly live in this body of mine. To find love for myself again and find connection to ME and my body, was the biggest gift that I could receive. I wanted to be outdoors because this is where I feel free to be myself. To freely venture into the mountains and just be raw in my own skin, was the most incredible opportunity.” – Lady A
