An excuse I get a lot before someone books a boudoir session is “but I’am not ready.” That their body isn’t “ready,” they aren’t confident “enough” or they have nothing to wear. A little secret, all fake news.
There is no requirements to meet before a boudoir session. Well, besides you agreeing to have this experience of course. Your body is ready. It’s your mind that might not be ready, but that’s exactly the sign ya need that this experience will be good for you.
“Wish I had the confidence to do something like that.” I get it, I hear ya, the thought of a boudoir session can some serious butterflies in the tummy. The flight response kicks in and you grab onto the easiest excuse. The thing is, a boudoir experience shows you that you have more confidence than you give yourself credit for. Think of all the things in life that have given you butterflies. Now, think of how many of those things made for lasting, amazing memories. Butterflies are good, soooo good.
Without those butterflies and the leap of faith before a boudoir session, the high after would not be as good. Any game changing reward comes with risk. With boudoir, the risk is the trust you are putting in your photographer. It’s why I scream it from the rooftops to find the right one. A bad boudoir experience can have a detrimental effect on someone. Ya gotta risk it for this biscuit, so they say.
The thing is, you have the confidence, you have the body and you hold the power. It’s all the voices that have been conditioning you ever since you can remember that all those things are “bad.” The voices are the patriarchy, the beauty industry etc that want to keep you under their spell. There is nothing more powerful than a woman who makes no apologies for their confidence, their body or their power. A boudoir session is VERY liberating. I dare you to find out.
