Boudoir privacy is something I take very seriously. Understanding if and how your images are shared is important, so let’s dig in.
When is comes to your boudoir privacy, it’s 100% up to you if you want your images kept private or not. Long story short, I never share your images, in any capacity, without your written permission. By default, I have NO permission to share ANYTHING from your session. I must have a signed model release from you allowing me to share.
So, if you are concerned about your images being on my social media or blog, which is 95% where I share permitted images, don’t be. There is NO pressure to sign any kind of release. I don’t need a reason, explanation or justification as to why you wish to keep your images private.
There are tons of Blue Flame sessions that the public never sees. Do I wish I could share from every single client? That’s a HARD yes, but your boudoir privacy is not up to me. Any image you see on my end has a signed release from the individual. If a client chooses to sign a model release, anonymous or full, it is also only after they have seen their images. I ask one time before your session, in your questionnaire, if you are open to discussing a model release. If the answer is no, I don’t bring it up again. But if it’s a maybe or yes, then after your image reveal I ask how you feel about sharing.
Depending on your boudoir privacy level, I have two main types of releases; anonymous & full. Both releases give me permission share anyway I wish. Mostly this looks like via social media, blog &/or website and sometimes in print for studio samples or advertising. I never tag or use your name when I share. There is some customization, but let’s break these two down first.
An anonymous release only applies to images where most or all of your face is either covered or not shown. Images where we can’t tell who is in the photo. Some people have recognizable tattoos or markings so that is something we would discuss further + keep in mind.
A full release allows every image to be shared from your session. EVERY image is open to be shared. However, this is where some customizing can be applied to either a full or anonymous release to tailor your boudoir privacy to your comfort level. Say your session included nudity and you are ok with sharing anything but those, your release would be adjusted to exclude any nude images. That could also be applied to a certain outfit you wish to exclude etc. Again, you are in control here & no pressure to grant permission for anything.
Other topics to note; I work with professional print labs who take your boudoir privacy seriously. Digital images are sent via an online gallery that is password protected, a password you create & control. This gallery is live for one year from delivery, unless you wish sooner.
Hopefully that clears any concerns about your boudoir privacy and helps you understand your options when working with me! I greatly appreciate any kinda of release (like A LOT, A LOT) from my clients. Without releases, my portfolio would be nonexistent! I also greatly understand the personal nature of boudoir and respect anyone’s wish to keep images for their eyes only.
If you have other questions/concerns around boudoir privacy don’t hesitate to ask during your consultation, which you can book HERE.
