I bet you can’t guess how I came up with Blue Flame Studio Co for a photography studio name. Seriously though, I wish I had some amazing story about how it came about, but the good stuff came later.
So before Blue Flame Studio Co, it was Blue Flame Boudoir. The Studio Co part came after I realized I didn’t want to only shoot boudoir. I wanted to work with women in more than one capacity. I didn’t want to box myself in and Blue Flame Studio was taken, so I had to add on the Co part. What can ya do?
I think any small business owner can tell you that naming their business was hard. When I first got started in photography my business name was just my name; Mackenzie Nemeth Photography. It was lame, long and had to go when I decided to specialize in boudoir. I had been brain storming for weeks when it came out of nowhere and I can remember the moment so clear. I had just left my apartment, it was a gorgeous day, I had my car windows rolled down with the music up. “𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦” played and I was singing the lyrics. I wasn’t totally sure what I had heard so I replayed that Florida Georgia Line song a few times and I just knew it was perfect. Blue Flame Boudoir. The name found me really.
I guess it’s still a neat story behind the name, but Blue Flame really connected to me and my mission a few years later. Honestly, right around the same time I really started to find myself in boudoir and truly understand the power behind it. A friend of mine sent me an article by Melissa Field, “What is the Blue Flame?”

I mean, HOLY SHIT! That right there is the cool part. I didn’t realize just how perfect Blue Flame was for me until I read that. It’s literally perfect and aligns with Blue Flame Studio Co’s mission. The fire in me recognized the fire in you. Let’s light it up!
