This soft Denver bridal boudoir session gives all the strong yet dreamy vibes. Incorporating different textures, romantic colors and some haze for a unique bridal feel.
The Photoshoot Vibe
Most of the time, bridal boudoir doesn’t look a whole lot different. Depending on the client, they might want to incorporate more obvious bridal pieces, a node with wearing white or nothing traditionally bridal. There is no one right way to do bridal boudoir, just like every boudoir session, it’s whatever makes you feel your best. Lady A was excited to be a bride capturing this chapter in her life but didn’t want it to be entirely about it.
During her design call, she told me she wanted a whimsical feel for her bridal boudoir session. Keeping tones softer, playing with textures and getting creative with light. Which, if you have been here long enough, know that is all my jam. We chatted about some blur effects and I love the way a new *accidental* tool helped create a haze effect.
Bridal Boudoir Photoshoot Tips
Incorporating white is the obvious choice in your lingerie. Maybe even matching the style/fabrics of your dress in your looks. The other side would be wearing your partners jacket, button up or something from their outfit. Even taking inspiration from what you wore for your engagement photos or what you wore when you first met or other special occasions. Bring your vail, wedding day robe, garter, shoes, wedding flowers etc..
Also, just because you are a bride doesn’t mean any of this is necessary. It’s your session and no matter how we style it won’t take away from it being your bridal session.
Bridal Boudoir Timeline
If you are wanting to gift your images to your partner on the big day we have a deadline to keep in mind. I recommend having your session a few months before you want images/products in hand. The reason being that the last couple months before your wedding date can get stressful and lots of moving pieces start coming together. I do not want your boudoir session to become another things to check off your list. Being intentional and present for your session is so important and should be a time to have a you day. Scheduling your bridal boudoir session at least 2-3 months will set you up for success to get the most from your session. However, at a minimum 4-6 weeks before product delivery is doable. Products are usually ordered within 3 days of your session date and are ready for pickup within 7-10 business days. Keep in mind any travel, shipping or any other time restraints around this time. I have worked with many last minutes brides for their session, most of them agreed that doing it sooner would have been better but none the less they were so exited to share their images with their partner.
And if you are wondering how to be comfortable during your session, I got you. My blog on Boudoir Tips to be Comfortable is just the ticket.
