Every quarter I love to highlight a Denver Small Business that I have worked with. Megan of Establiss Co. came to me to elevate her brand & show her many sides to connect with her audience.
Megan is the many hats behind Denver Small Business Establiss Co. which has carved out a much-needed space & community for low-energy entrepreneurs. If you aren’t familiar with that term like I was, Megan explains it best.
“Hi! My name is Meg and I’m a low-energy entrepreneur, creative, and marketing strategist. I work primarily with other low-energy entrepreneurs to help them create marketing strategies, systems, and processes that make sense for their businesses. What is low-energy entrepreneurship? Low energy entrepreneurship is something I co-created with my biz bestie, Kendall Barger! It is to help describe the experience of entrepreneurs who may be dealing with mental illness, chronic illness, or disability, they are a caretaker or parent, or they generally have a lower capacity, or unsubscribe to the hustle mentality that is prevalent in a lot of entrepreneurship. Our goal is to help folks know there is another way to build a business and be an entrepreneur. I do all sorts of things in my business like many entrepreneurs, but I love how I am able to pursue different pieces of my work depending on how I am feeling.”
How/why did you start your Denver Small Business?
“I first got started in the world of entrepreneurship after I graduated college. I went to school and received a degree in Political Science + Sociology. My original plan was to work in politics and to work for non-profits. After my college experience in politics and with non-profits, and also dealing with more and more chronic illness issues popping up, I knew I wouldn’t be able to care for my health and have the career I wanted in those fields. I was always told growing up that working for non-profits was hard work and that you never made any money and I was told similar things about politics as well. With what I knew, and my failing health, I had to do something different. So I started a blog and over 3 years later I have a business doing things I love. There were lots of ups and downs, lots of pivots, and lots of different offers. But I have finally found my footing with marketing and creativity work over the last 2 years!”
Who can really benefit from working with you?
“I really enjoy working with entrepreneurs or small businesses of any niche! The thing that all of my clients have in common is that marketing feels overwhelming for them and their business, and they feel like they are throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.
Folks who are ready for a holistic marketing strategy for their business would benefit from my services the most but so would anyone else who feels like traditional marketing strategies just don’t work for them. When we work together I act as a partner in your business and we set goals and create strategies that make sense for your business.

Most rewarding part of your Denver Small Business
“The most rewarding part of being an entrepreneur for me is the ability to take care of my health in a way that I never have. I’ve been chronically ill most of my life and I have also struggled with mental illness for the last 15 years. I was always a high achieving child and I always pushed myself really hard through college. Working really hard, earning accolades, but also experiencing severe bouts of burn out and watching my health continue to get worse. It’s been a journey to find the balance care that works for my lifestyle, but I wouldn’t be able to care for myself the way I do unless I was an entrepreneur. I’m not sure I would survive a traditional working environment without burning myself out and I am so grateful for the ability to work for myself.
I also love that I get to do so many things in my business. I’m a marketing strategist. But also a business mentor. And also an artist. And a writer. (I just published a book!) And a breathwork facilitator. And a creative. And a Reiki practitioner. And a systems wizard.
I get to honor all of the parts of myself. And that is truly the most rewarding part of my career.”
